Day 9: Making Simple Sentences in Korean – Start Speaking Now!
Welcome back, Korean learner! π
Today, we’re going to start making real Korean sentences simple but powerful ones.
Just like “I eat,” “I go,” or “I study.” These are the kinds of sentences you’ll use every single day!
𧱠Korean Sentence Basics
In Korean, the most basic sentence structure is:
Subject + Verb (λλ + λ¨Ήμ΄μ) → I eat
Good news: In spoken Korean, the subject is often dropped! So instead of “I eat,” you can just say “eat” – and it still makes sense.
π€ Subject: “I” in Korean
- μ λ (jeo-neun) – I (formal)
- λλ (na-neun) – I (casual)
In this lesson, we’ll mostly use “μ λ” to keep things polite and respectful π
π€ Common Verbs You Can Use
π‘ All of these are polite present tense.
π£️ Example Sentences
- μ λ λ°₯μ λ¨Ήμ΄μ → jeo-neun bap-eul meo-geo-yo → I eat rice / I eat a meal

✂️ Tip: You Can Drop the Subject!
Once it’s clear who you’re talking about, you can skip the subject:
- 곡λΆν΄μ → I study
- μ¬μ΄μ → I rest
- μμ → I sleep
This is very common in daily Korean conversations!
