📘 What Does ~아/어야 돼요 Mean?
~아/어야 돼요 (or ~아/어야 해요) means “have to / must / should.” It’s used when something is necessary or required. You can use either 돼요 or 해요 interchangeably – 돼요 is slightly more common in conversation.
📘 How to Form It
Pattern:
- Verb stem + 아야 돼요 (for verbs ending in ㅏ or ㅗ)
