3. Writing Practice for TOPIK II
Goal:
-
Practice writing structured essays that use the advanced grammar structures learned this week.
Why Writing Practice is Crucial:
In TOPIK II, you’ll be required to write longer essays that require not only strong vocabulary but also advanced grammar. You’ll need to express opinions, support them with examples, and use appropriate connectors to make your arguments flow logically.
Writing Tasks:
-
Write a 200-250 word essay on the topic:
"Do you think online learning is effective? Why or why not?"-
Use -니까 to give reasons and -면 to express hypothetical situations.
Example:
"온라인 학습이 효과적이라고 생각해요. 왜냐하면 언제 어디서든 공부할 수 있기 때문이에요." -
-
Write about a current social issue:
"What should be done to reduce pollution?"-
Use -다고 생각하다 to express your opinion and give solutions with -자.
-
4. Practice Speaking with Advanced Sentences
Goal:
-
Focus on speaking practice that uses advanced grammar and vocabulary.
Why Speaking is Important for TOPIK:
Although TOPIK doesn’t have a speaking section, being able to speak confidently in Korean will improve your overall language ability. Speaking is also a great way to reinforce what you've learned in writing and grammar.
Speaking Tasks:
-
Record yourself speaking about your opinion on social issues, current events, or future plans.
-
Engage in a language exchange using HelloTalk or italki to practice speaking with native speakers. Focus on using complex sentences and advanced vocabulary.

Simulate exam conditions: Record a 5-minute speech in Korean, where you explain a social issue or your opinion on technology. Listen back and correct any mistakes.
